Tim Swafford CAPS, CGB, CGR, CGP

Tim Swafford was born and raised in the Chattanooga area and received an Associates Degree at Cleveland State College in Architectural Technology and was an Architectural Drafter for 5 years. Swafford Construction was started more or less from a garage with no more than 5 employees, and since 1985, Swafford Construction has grown into a noted local remodel and renovation company. Jobs range from stonework, kitchen remodel, home additions, to new home construction. No matter what the job entails, Swafford Construction brings professionalism and craftsmanship into every job. Tim Swafford, now an experienced, creative, and skilled leader, turns aging and empty brick and wood into aesthetic, efficient, and comfortable homes for Chattanoogans. His studies of building and remodeling have led to the following accreditations.

Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist

A C.A.P.S. accredited builder has been trained the specific needs of anyone who requires home modification to provide a home fit for life. Different necessities require different approaches to the building process, and a CAPS professional is the qualified professional needed for those affairs. Certified Graduate Builder

CGB professionals have met a number of requirements set forth by the National Association of Home Builders. These requirements include two years of experience, a statement to comply with the Code of Ethics of a Graduate Builder, knowledge of Codes & Standards, Building Technology, Contracts, Law, Management, Estimating, and Project Management.

Certified Graduate Remodeler

The CGR accreditation emphasizes the study of five areas of remodeling businesses, including sales, administration, design estimating and job cost, risk management, and project management.

Certified Green Professional

A CGP is trained to integrate green building techniques and fundamentals into home construction without driving up the cost of construction (NAHB). With the growing need for renewable, and reliable green building techniques, the best way to secure a green home, for our future for green living, a C.G.P. is qualified to oversee his type of construction.
